Built by a Physician Who Knows the Problem
VeloNote was created by a practicing physician who saw firsthand how much clinical time is consumed by searching through fragmented medical records before complex patient encounters.
VeloNote was created by Brian Lawenda, MD, a practicing physician who saw firsthand how much clinical time was being consumed by searching through fragmented medical records before patient visits.
VeloNote helps organize those records into a structured pre-visit clinical draft so physicians can spend less time reconstructing the chart and more time understanding the patient.
It is not an ambient scribe and does not depend on recording the patient encounter. VeloNote works before the visit, organizing the information clinicians need to review before they walk into the room.
Founded by Proven Clinical and Operational Leadership
VeloNote was founded by Dr. Brian Lawenda, a U.S.-based radiation oncologist with over 20 years of clinical experience delivering complex cancer care in highly regulated healthcare systems.
Dr. Lawenda completed his radiation oncology residency at Harvard Medical School / Massachusetts General Hospital. He is a former Commander in the United States Navy, with 13 years of active-duty service, where he held senior clinical and leadership roles in environments requiring precision, operational discipline, and clear accountability.
Following his military service, Dr. Lawenda served in clinical and leadership positions across national radiation oncology practices, overseeing patient care, multidisciplinary teams, and large-scale clinical operations. He is also a published author and educator, with longstanding experience in the clinical, regulatory, and documentation realities of modern healthcare.
VeloNote reflects this background: a practical understanding of how clinicians work, how healthcare organizations are regulated, and how technology must operate to earn trust.
Engineered for Regulated Healthcare
VeloNote is purpose-built for healthcare organizations subject to HIPAA and institutional compliance requirements. Our infrastructure runs on HIPAA-eligible cloud services under executed Business Associate Agreements, with encryption in transit and at rest, strict access controls, and comprehensive audit logging.
The platform is intentionally designed to minimize the persistence of Protected Health Information, reduce unnecessary data retention, and maintain clear boundaries between automated assistance and professional responsibility.
AI systems are probabilistic by nature. VeloNote is engineered with that reality in mind, emphasizing clinician review, verification, and final approval.
Designed for Real Clinical Work
VeloNote supports real clinical workflows, not theoretical use cases. The platform enables:
- •Structured, professional medical documentation
- •Efficient clinician review and refinement
- •Seamless integration into existing EMR processes
- •Clear authorship, traceability, and accountability
Nothing is auto-submitted. Nothing is auto-signed. Every output is reviewed and finalized by the clinician.
Trust Through Discipline
- ✓VeloNote does not train AI models on patient data.
- ✓We do not obscure responsibility behind automation.
- ✓We do not overstate accuracy or outcomes.
We believe trust in healthcare technology is earned through discipline, transparency, and restraint. VeloNote exists to help clinicians document care efficiently, confidently, and responsibly—in environments where the stakes are high and expectations are clear.
